THREE PRIZE WINNERS NAMED IN FIRST ACHLS ESSAY CONTEST
Salem, NH - Three students from local community colleges have been selected as winners in The American College of History and Legal Studies' first essay contest. The contest, which received diverse entries, asked students to compose original essays on persons or events of note in American history.
First prize: Nicolay Navia (Northern Essex Community College): $1,000 winner
Second prize: Patricia Tortolini (Manchester Community College): $500.00 winner
Third prize: Michelle Alie (Middlesex Community College): $250.00 winner
ABOUT THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HISTORY AND LEGAL STUDIES
The American College of History and Legal Studies was created by the Massachusetts School of Law. ACHLS offers the junior and senior years of undergraduate study toward a bachelor's degree in history and legal studies. All classes exclusively use the discussion (not lecture) method of teaching. ACHLS offers an Early Admission to Law School program whereby qualified students can combine their senior year of college with their first year of law school at the Massachusetts School of Law.
