AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HISTORY AND LEGAL STUDIES ANNOUNCES ARTICULATION AGREEMENT WITH MIDDLESEX COMMUNITY COLLEGE
SALEM, NH – The American College of History and Legal Studies ("ACHLS") entered into an articulation agreement with Middlesex Community College. The articulation agreement outlines the appropriate course of study a Middlesex student can take to acquire the 60 credits needed before entering ACHLS to pursue a bachelor's degree in history and legal studies, and, if a student qualifies, a law degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in Andover. The ACHLS now has 11 articulation agreements with community colleges throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
"We are pleased to announce our articulation agreement with Middlesex Community College," said Michael B. Chesson, founding professor and dean at ACHLS. "The ACHLS looks forward to assisting Middlesex graduates achieve their academic goals." he said.
"Middlesex is always searching for ways to help students find appropriate pathways to bachelor's degree completion programs in their desired field. We are excited about the new MCC/ACHLS connection and the unique option it affords our graduates," said Phil Sisson, MCC Provost and VP of Academic and Student Affairs.
ACHLS is offering half tuition scholarships for qualified students with outstanding GPAs who plan to enroll for the fall 2011 semester. Such scholarships reduce the annual tuition to only $5,000 for the full year. A qualified student must submit a complete application to be considered for a half tuition scholarship.
Middlesex is one of the largest community colleges in Massachusetts, serving more than 12,000 students on a 200 acre campus in suburban Bedford as well as a dynamic campus in the heart of downtown Lowell.
The American College of History and Legal Studies was created by the Massachusetts School of Law. The ACHLS is an affordable "completion" college offering the junior and senior years of undergraduate study toward a bachelor's degree in history and legal studies. All classes exclusively use the discussion (not lecture) method of teaching. ACHLS offers an "Early Admission to Law School" program whereby qualified students can combine their senior year of college with their first year of law school at the Massachusetts School of Law.
