ACHLS Announces Members of Phi Theta Kappa will Receive Special
Consideration for One-Half Tuition Remission Scholarships

SALEM, NH - The American College ofHistory and Legal Studies (ACHLS), being
started by the Massachusetts School ofLaw (MSL), is a brand new, truly unique
opportunity in American higher education. Tuition at ACHLS will be only $10,000 per
year, with members of Phi Theta Kappa receiving special consideration for half tuition
scholarships of$5,000 per year. Applicants who seek a half tuition scholarship must
apply by June 1, 2010.

ACHLS will be a "senior" college: it will offer only the junior and senior years. Its
focus will be on American history. All classes will be very small-- 15 to 25 students-and
will be taught exclusively by the discussion method.

"The teaching at ACHLS will be rigorous, in order to prepare students to meet the
stringent competition they will face in the academic, business, or professional worlds
after college," said Lawrence Velvel, the Founding Dean of ACHLS.

ACHLS students who wish to go to law school, and who obtain a 2.7 GPA in their junior
year at ACHLS, will be able to enter the Massachusetts School ofLaw after the junior
year. They can combine their fIrst year oflaw school with their senior year of college,
and receive their B.A. after the fIrst year oflaw school. Other students can enter MSL
after their senior year if they have a 2.3 GPA at ACHLS, or they can of course go to
graduate school, or go to other law schools, or join the business world after their senior
year.
