ACHLS Academic Programs
The American College of History and Legal Studies, located in Salem, New Hampshire, offers a two year, full-time program of study for students to obtain their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in history and legal studies. Students take twelve (12) credit hours during each fifteen (15) week semester and six (6) credit hours each summer.
The American College of History and Legal studies courses are related to American History and use the Harkness discussion method in all courses to enhance the learning and classroom experience. Small classes conducted by dedicated professors help optimize each student's learning experience.
ACHLS offers an option for seniors to focus their studies on any of four specific areas of history: The History of Civil Rights, The History of Urban Growth and Immigration, The History of American Foreign Relations, and The Lessons of American History.
ACHLS also offers electives covering in detail the history of science, mathematics, literature, communication, law and logic, women's advancement and legal issues, and military history, among several others to choose from, depending on demand.
